about

This album is a miracle ... What a journey!
We thought we would never hear some of these tunes again after the robbery in The Cape Verdes, but here it is and what a pleasure it is to share it with you now. 5 years in the making here are ten pieces of music in various states of creation yet they are complete, perfect in their imperfection. This represent an ongoing project of collaboration with artists from The Gambia and The UK. Through his songs Mamboi generously shares his unique wisdom and humour with his distinctive vocal style and melodic bongo playing, and the Njahass band brings the whole sound alive in true Njahass fashion.

The Njahass band was born in collaboration with many wonderful musicians based both in The Gambia and UK and the Wolof word, Njahass describes a mixed up world of diversity and that is where this music comes from... ... more
